Our adoption fees are SIGNIFICANTLY lower than buying a bird from a pet store or breeder. Bare-eyed cockatoos are quite intelligent and enjoy figuring things out. Further testing and medical treatment is necessary and at times a huge expense for the rescue. Not small, bare-eyed cockatoos arent large, either, growing to be between 14 and 16 inches and tipping the scales at around 20 ounces. ![]() We also do not turn down surrenders due to medical issues, so some birds come to CWA sick, abused, or neglected.
